If
your idea of a dream holiday is sunbathing under
palm-lined beaches with the warm blue ocean lapping
at your feet then Barbados is perfect for you, but
Barbados also offers a wealth of world-class leisure
facilities. For the golfers there are several excellent
courses, with the exclusive
championship standard courses of Royal Westmoreland
and Sandy Lane on the west coast,
together with the more relaxed nature of the Almond
Beach Village, Barbados Golf Course, Rockley Golf

Barbados also offers the chance to indulge
in some top-class water sports, with the
east coast of the island offering wonderful
surfing, and the warm water temperatures and
tropical backdrop makes this a great place
to learn on the smaller waves on the east coast beaches of Sandbank and
Ragged Point, with Duppies and the internationally
known 'Soup Bowl' at Bathsheba an impressive
challenge for the expert. Wind surfing, kite
surfing, jet skiing and other activities are also
available throughout the island. |

As Barbados itself is
an ancient coral reef there is the potential for
magical snorkelling on fringes and reef patches
found close to the shore. If you head around 1½-2
miles
further out all around the island there are barrier
reefs, with stunning coral, fish and turtles to be
seen. Barbados also has several excellent wreck
sites, most notably around Carlisle Bay and
Folkestone Marine Park. For more information on
